Chris Paul, a 12-time NBA All-Star guard, has been told he will be released by the Phoenix Suns after three seasons with the club, league telecaster TNT and Chris Haynes reported. Paul, still chasing his first NBA title at age 38, would likely be among the most popular free agents despite averaging a career-low 13.9 points as well as 8.9 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals a game this season.
The Golden State Warriors are down 1-3 in the NBA Playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers. What happened in Game 4, made rounds on social media, some of it, though, not for a good reason.
After missing three straight games against the Denver Nuggets, the Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul does everything in his power to be available for Game 6. Paul suffered a groin injury in Game 2 and missed the last three games. Without him, the Suns managed to tie the series, but after the recent loss in Game 5, they trail 2-3.
Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul is expected to be re-evaluated in one week after MRI on his groin injury, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Suns are preparing to be without Paul through Games 3-5, per the same report. Paul exited the Suns' 97-87 Game 2 road loss to the Denver Nuggets on Monday with left groin tightness.
The Phoenix Suns lost Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinal series against the Denver Nuggets Monday night. On top of that, they might have lost one of their main players. Chris Paul exited the game after he injured his groin in the third quarter. With just under 5 minutes to go in the quarter, the veteran guard jumped for a rebound when he immediately collapsed, grabbing his left groin.
The NBA world was changed yesterday when it was announced that Kyrie Irving is heading to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for several players and future draft picks. After the deal was done, information started to emerge about the packages that other teams offered to the Brooklyn Nets. In particular, the Los Angels Lakers and the Phoenix Suns were viewed as the most-likely suitors after the Mavs.
The Phoenix Suns have begun setting their post-Paul, who is missing more and more games due to injuries, future and thus identify Charlotte's Terry Rozier, New York's Immanuel Quickley, and Toronto's Fred VanVleet as potential trade targets, according to Marc Stein.
Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul left Friday night's 104-96 losing effort against the Miami Heat with hip soreness and did not return. Paul, 37, was subbed out with 4:58 left in the second quarter and wasn't on the floor to begin the third period. He finished the match with 5 points and 1 assist in 12 playing minutes.
Last night, Chris Paul dished out 11 assists in a game between the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers. The second one - a lob to Deandre Ayton -Â became special. The veteran guard became just the third player in NBA history to achieve an 11,000-assist mark. There are only two players above Paul - Jason Kidd (12091 assists in his career) and John Stockton (15806).
Some shots were fired yesterday in the ESPN studios. Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Pat Beverley was a guest on the show 'Get Up', which is co-hosted by former NBA player J.J. Redick.
During the show, Pat Beverley heavily criticized Chris Paul for his lack of performance in the series that the Suns lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference semifinals.
Those comments, though, didn't sit well with Matt Barnes, another former NBA player and now an analyst for ESPN.
Barnes, during ESPN Today, called Beverley a clown for his comments regarding Chris Paul, saying that the Minnesota Timberwolves guard was way out of the line.
"I feel like what Pat Beverley did today to Chris Paul was completely disrespectful and out of the line", Barnes said during the show.
"Beverley is talking like he's that guy, well, you're not that guy, plain and simple", Barnes continued. "Chris Paul played terrible in this series and his numbers are still better than your career numbers have ever been".
"All he needed was the red clown nose cause he was out there talking like a clown today", Barnes said of Beverley. "CP3 is a legend of this game, we were role players in this game, so have some respect for the guy. He played terribly but he'd be the first to tell you that, Bev's comments were out of the line".
The Suns finished the season on a disappointing note after dominating for the most of the regular season. For the second straight year, Chris Paul's campaign came to an end with his team failing to protect a 2-0 series lead.
Paul had a terrible Game 7, registering only 10 points and four assists in 31 minutes of play being a minus-39 for the time he was on the court. Suns star guard talked about whether this was his best shot at a title.
"They said that last year. They probably said it back in '08. You play long enough and you don’t win, every time you lose, they’re going to say it was your best chance", Paul told reporters.
"But I think for me, us, it’s we'll be right back next year. I'll tell you that much," he continued. "I’m not retiring tomorrow, thank God. Hopefully, I’m healthy coming back. But I'm [going to] keep playing."
The Dallas Mavericks banned two fans from American Airlines Center until 2023 for attempting to give "unwanted hugs" to members of Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul's family. The incident occurred during the Mavs' 111-101 win on Sunday, which tied the best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series at 2-2. Game 5 is Tuesday night in Phoenix. Arena security and Mavericks executives concluded their ...
A Dallas Mavericks fan was ejected from the American Airlines Center during Sunday's Game 4 against the Phoenix Suns. ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported soon after that Chris Paul's mother Robin "had hands put on her by Dallas fans" and Paul's wife Jada "was also pushed." Paul's children witnessed the incident, too. McMenamin added that Jada was also "followed up the aisle when she left her ...
The Shammgod dribble seems to be as old as basketball. In one moment, the ballhandler is moving with comforting familiarity, crossing over as usual. In another, the ball has seemingly teleported, as if controlled through supernatural ability, but instead with the utmost precision dictated from the player in control. It’s named after God Shammgod, the legendary Brooklyn dribbler whose ...
Phoenix Suns veteran guard Chris Paul instituted a curfew for his teammates when they were playing first-round playoff series on the road in New Orleans, per ESPN's Brian Windhorst. Windhorst noted that the idea came from Paul himself and not the coaching staff. The 36-year-old called his teammates to be back at the hotel by a certain time. The point guard had hotel rooms set up for him and his ...
The Phoenix Suns dropped Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans, also losing Devin Booker to hamstring injury. However, there's a funny stat that accompanies star guard Chris Paul for almost throughout his career. That loss was Paul's 14th consecutive in the NBA playoffs when referee Scott Foster officiated the game. The two have had a public feud that goes ...
