Paul said a lot of referees might feel the same way but implied Spooner might be close with Scott Foster, who Paul has a public beef with.

Former NBA ref Bill Spooner claimed Paul to be the biggest 'bad guy' in the entire league. "When I tell them that Chris Paul, in my 32 years in the league, was one of the biggest a–holes I ever dealt with, they say, 'Not Rasheed Wallace … or da-da-da?' Nope. Nothing like [Paul]," Spooner told Jason Quick from The Athletic.
Paul is known to have a public beef with one of the most prominent NBA officials, Scott Foster. Foster is jokingly nicknamed The Extender due to his track record of officiating do-or-die games in which the team trailing in the series pulls out a win.
Asked about Spooner's comment, the Golden State Warriors star referred to Foster.
"There's probably a lot more that feel like that," Paul said in the Pat McAfee Show. "I'm going to be honest with you - I had to look him up when he said it."
"He was in the league for a long time, so you can probably guess who one of his homeboys is. He was probably mad I didn't put him in the last State Farm commercial, the one with the referee," Paul jokingly said. "I got that State Farm commercial with the referee, and he probably wanted to be in it."
