"I’ll be 40 in May. So, yeah, man, I’m going to keep playing, I think," Paul told Marc Spears. "At the end of every season, I evaluate everything—playing, how my body feels. But as the years go by, these conversations involve my family more. My kids have a lot of input."
Paul expressed gratitude for his career, saying he couldn’t imagine stopping now after spending half his life in the NBA.
"I’m proud. Grateful. I don’t think about it too much," Paul said about his career.
"I always tell my teammates, 'I couldn’t imagine being done at 25. I couldn’t imagine being done at 35.' And I still can’t imagine being done at some point. I’ve been in the league for half my life," he noted.
CP3 revealed that his love for the game is as strong as ever.
"My love for the game is even higher now. My son plays. My daughter plays. And I think the most challenging thing now is that I love giving back to my teammates, sharing the little nuances I’ve learned," Paul said.
"I want to pass that knowledge to my kids, too. I’m just figuring it out, seeing what that looks like," he added.
Now in his 20th NBA season, Paul remains an effective and valuable player, averaging 8.8 points, 7.6 assists, and 3.6 rebounds in about 28 minutes per game for the Spurs this season.
