LeBron James and Chris Paul will make history as the first NBA players inducted into the Hall of Fame while still active, as part of the 2008 U.S. Olympic "Redeem Team."
LeBron James and Chris Paul are set to make basketball history in 2025 as the first active NBA players to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The honor comes as part of the legendary 2008 U.S. Olympic men’s basketball squad, better known as the "Redeem Team."
The Redeem Team, which included stars like Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and others, was assembled to restore Team USA’s dominance in international play.
After falling short in 2004, the 2008 group stormed through the Beijing Olympics to bring home the gold, reclaiming their spot atop the basketball world.
Joining them in the Class of 2025 are several basketball icons such as Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Sue Bird, Maya Moore, Sylvia Fowles, Danny Crawford, the 2008 U.S. Olympic men's team, Billy Donovan, and Micky Arison.
