Wenyen Gabriel will miss the start of the EuroLeague season, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv announced.

According to their short statement, Gabriel has suffered a knee injury that will make him unavailable for the first matches of the 2024-25 campaign.

The initial timetable set by Maccabi until he comes back to practicing is 3-4 weeks.

Depending on the severity of his injury, Gabriel could miss between 2-4 EuroLeague games until he recovers completely.

Gabriel is coming off a historic summer for his country, as he participated in the Olympic Games for South Sudan in France.

Gabriel is starting his first European season after playing the previous 6 years in the NBA, most recently with the Memphis Grizzlies, where he played 5 games last season, averaging 3.4 points and 5 rebounds in 16.2 minutes.
