Wenyen Gabriel signed with Maccabi a 1+1 deal that will run through until the end of the 2024-25 season with an option to extend it for a further year.

Maccabi Tel Aviv Playtika made one of its biggest moves this offseason, signing the former NBA forward Wenyen Gabriel.

According to an announcement, Maccabi signed Gabriel to a 1+1 deal that will run through until the end of the 2024-25 season, with an option to extend it for a further year.

"I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to join such a historic organization," Gabriel said in a press release. "I can no longer wait to bring my passion to Tel Aviv and the Euroleague and meet the famous fan base. I can say that I feel at home wearing the yellow jersey."

Gabriel spent 5 seasons in the NBA, representing the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Memphis Grizzlies.

In total, Gabriel made 150 appearances, averaging 4.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.4 blocks per game.

Gabriel represented South Sudan in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. In 5 appearances, he averaged 23.5 minutes, 9.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 2.6 blocks, and 14.6 EFF per game.
