Real Madrid have signed Usman Garuba to a three-year contract, bringing the 22-year-old power forward back to the club after his NBA tenure.
Real Madrid have officially announced the return of Usman Garuba, who will rejoin the club on a three-year contract that runs until 2027.
The 22-year-old power forward is back at Real Madrid after spending the last three seasons in the NBA. Garuba played two seasons with the Houston Rockets (2021-2023) and his most recent season with the Golden State Warriors (2023-2024).
Garuba's journey with Real began in 2013, where he progressed through the youth ranks. He was a Spanish champion at various youth levels, including children, cadets, and juniors, and won two Mini Cups and the European Junior Cup in 2019.
He made his debut with Real Madrid's first team in 2019, as well, contributing to the team's success by winning four titles over three seasons: one ACB League, one Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups.
Garuba was also recognized as the Best Young Player in both the Endesa League and EuroLeague for the 2020-21 season.
On the international stage, Garuba has been capped 42 times for the Spanish national team and was part of the squad that won the gold medal at the FIBA EuroBasket 2022.
