Guerschon Yabusele has signed a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers after resolving a $2.5 million buyout with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid power forward Guerschon Yabusele is leaving the EuroLeague for the NBA. The French player has agreed on a one-year, $2.1 million minimum deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Shams Charania of The Athletic previously reported that Yabusele was in serious talks on a deal with the Sixers.
Now, he has resolved a $2.5 million contract buyout with Real. If an NBA team had signed him until July 15th, the buyout would've been only $1 million, Marc Stein notes.
The 76ers will pay only $850,000, per NBA rules, with the rest of the $2.5 million falling on the shoulders of Yabusele himself.
The 28-year-old recently played a key role in leading the French national team to a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he averaged 14.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game.
Yabusele had two great games in the semifinal and the final, scoring 17 and 20 points, respectively.

Yabusele, the 16th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, previously played for the Boston Celtics from 2017 to 2019. He averaged just 2.3 points in seven minutes of playing time over 74 NBA games.
Following two seasons with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in his native France, he signed with Real Madrid in 2021. He has won two Spanish League titles and the 2023 EuroLeague with Los Blancos.
