According to an official announcement from the team, Mateo will stay with the club for two more years.
It was rumored before that Real Madrid was looking to continue with the Spanish tactician.
Mateo was the recipient of the Alexander Gomelsky Coach of the Year award for the 2023-24 season, even though Real Madrid lost the championship game to Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens.
Mateo won the EuroLeague in his first year as the head coach of Real Madrid in the 2022-23 season.
