FIBA Europe has issued a statement regarding the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 Group A game between Turkey and Georgia played on September 4, 2022 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Following the conclusion of the Game, the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) submitted a protest regarding a timekeeping operations error (the game clock ran for 22 seconds while the game was stopped).

Duda Sanadze was one of the protagonists in the incident during the game between Georgia and Turkey.  Sanadze and Furkan Korkmaz faced each other face to face after exchanging some words and everything escalated to disqualifying fouls for both players. Korkmaz said that Sanadze was provoking him, saying some bad words, which he couldn't let slide.

Spain ran away from their opponents at the end of the first half. The reigning world champions arranged a 6-0 mini spurt to have a 9-point cushion going into the break.
