After Monaco's 77-73 home victory over Real Madrid in Round 24 of the Euroleague, coach Vassilis Spanoulis addressed Real Madrid’s frequent complaints to the referees during a live post-game television interview. He emphasized that Monaco's tough defense, not officiating, was the key factor in their win.

"We played good defense; I didn't see anything extraordinary," Spanoulis said when asked about the refereeing.

"I don’t understand Real Madrid. I respect them and coach Chus Mateo a lot, but I don’t understand. We played clean, solid defense. The officiating criteria were the same for both teams," he added.

With the win, Monaco improved to 15-9, securing third place in the standings, while Real Madrid fell to 13-11, dropping to eighth place.
