The curtain was closed on another Lithuanian basketball league (LKL) campaign, where all the winners of the LKL season awards were announced.

Rytas Vilnius defeated Lietkabelis Panevezys in a hard-fought battle, in Game 5 of the Lithuanian Basketball League finals, winning their 6th championship crown and their first in 12 years 79-76 (17-23, 18-21, 21-18, 23-14).

In Game 4 of the Lithuanian Basketball League finals, Rytas Vilnius defeated Lietkabelis Panevezys in a hard battle on the court. Coach Zibenas' side conquered the win through their defense in an exciting ending with the final score of 78-77 (19-22, 28-16, 7-20, 24-19). Rytas lead the series 3-1.

Game 3 of the Lithuanian Basketball League finals between Rytas Vilnius and Lietkabelis Panevezys was unprecedented.

In what became a really intense game due to the ejection of coach Canak in the first half and the following scenes created by an altercation with one of Rytas' owners, Lietkabelis didn't stand a chance and lost game 3 of the series against Rytas with the final score of 85-63 (22-9, 29-18, 16-18, 18-18).

Lithuanian Basketball League final between Rytas Vilnius and Lietkabelis Panevezys reached its hottest point.

In the Game 2 of the Lithuanian Basketball League finals, Rytas Vilnius eased past hosting Lietkabelis Panevezys 88-66 (25-23, 23-18, 17-8, 23-17) and tied the series at 1-1. The third match will take place on Wednesday in Vilnius.

After forcing Zalgiris to the historic loss in the semifinal series, Lietkabelis Panevezys traveled to the Lithuanian capital to meet regular-season leaders Rytas Vilnius in Game 1 of the Lithuanian Basketball League finals.

Lietkabelis Panevezys closed the Lithuanian League semifinals series and made Zalgiris Kaunas miss the finals for the first time in nearly 30 years (since the league was created in 1993). Moreover, Zalgiris didn't lose a single title since 2011.

Lietkabelis Panevezys forced Zalgiris Kaunas to the second defeat in the Lithuanian League semifinals, 73-69 (18-21, 14-22, 16-10, 25-16).

EuroCup's squad is leading the best-of-five series 2-1, while vital Game 3 for Zalgiris is scheduled for Saturday in Panevezys.

With 33 seconds to play, Dovydas Giedraitis increased Lietkabelis' lead to four points by nailing both free throws (70-66). Janis Strelnieks missed on the other side, while Vytenis Lipkevicius hit one shot from the line (71-66).

Even though Arturas Milaknis tried to revive the Zalgiris' hopes with a late triple (69-71), Dovydas Giedraitis sealed the deal for the guests (73-69).

Giedraitis led the route for Lietkabelis, accumulating 14 points (2/3 2PT, 0/2 3PT, 10/11 FT), 5 assists, and 21 PIR.

Lietkabelis Panevezys left no chance for Zalgiris Kaunas, 79-55 (20-16, 28-11, 14-16, 17-12), in Game 2 of the Lithuanian Basketball League semifinals.

Lietkabelis leveled the best-of-five series at one win apiece, while Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday (May 19) at Zalgirio Arena.

Lietkabelis ran away from their opponents in the second quarter. EuroCup's squad organized a 9-0 run and created a solid 14-point advantage (33-19).

After another 6-0 spurt late in the second tally, Lietkabelis were up by 21 at halftime (48-27).

The second half was a mere formality, as Zalgiris could not bring the intrigue back.

Vytenis Lipkevicius led the route for the winners, accumulating 21 points (3/5 2PT, 4/6 3PT, 3/4 FT), 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 24 PIR.

Josh Nebo was a bright spot for Zalgiris, posting 16 points (8/9 2PT), 5 rebounds, 1 turnover, 1 block, and 16 PIR.

Zalgiris Kaunas survived guests Lietkabelis Panevezys 71-70 (16-19, 18-17, 21-20, 16-14) to make it 1-0 in the Lithuanian League's semi-finals that will be decided in a best-of-five format.

Game 2 will be held in Panevezys on Monday afternoon (17:30 CET). 

Lietkabelis started the match better and maintained the lead throughout the first three quarters.

Josh Nebo and Tai Webster gave Zalgiris a two-possession lead (69-65) with less than two minutes left. Gagic made it 69-68, before Lukas Lekavicius instantly responded and Gediminas Orelik returned the favor (71-70).

No team managed to score in the closing 51 seconds, which allowed the hosts to get a hard-fought win.
