Following his injury, Metu shared an emotional message with Barca fans, expressing his hope that the setback wouldn’t keep them apart for too long.

"It's been a difficult week trying to process this injury and the road ahead, but all I can do is thank God for the strength to overcome," Metu said.

"I wish I could put into words how grateful I am to both the club and the city of Barcelona for all the love and support over the last seven months. My expectations were exceeded in every way from the moment I landed in Barcelona."

"It was an honor to wear the blaugrana this year. Nobody can ever be sure what the future holds, but one thing I do know is that this club will always have a special place in my heart. You brought back the joy of doing what I love most, allowed me to be myself, and for that, I can't thank you enough. A tots els Culers, Meritxell, and Dracs—I’m going to miss hearing the roar in Palau every game and listening to you sing. I hope we’re not apart for too long," Metu concluded.

In his rookie EuroLeague season, Metu was a key contributor for Barcelona, averaging 11 points and 4.8 rebounds in approximately 20 minutes per game, making an impact on both ends of the floor.
