Philadelphia 76ers are interested in re-signing guard Quentin Grimes in free agency after acquiring him mid-season in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks.
The Philadelphia 76ers had little to celebrate this season, enduring one of their worst campaigns in recent years and falling well out of contention, even for the play-in tournament.
However, one bright spot for the 76ers has been the acquisition of guard Quentin Grimes, who was traded from the Dallas Mavericks this season.
Grimes has impressed the 76ers so far, and the team is eager to secure him long-term. They are reportedly preparing to offer him a new contract during free agency, though his market value remains uncertain due to his status as a restricted free agent, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
"League sources say that Quentin Grimes’ camp did not explicitly request a trade out of Dallas, despite rumors to the contrary. However, the fourth-year guard appears to have significantly boosted his value for the upcoming restricted free agency with his performance in Philadelphia," Marc Stein noted.
The 24-year-old guard is averaging 21.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 33.2 minutes per game with the 76ers, emerging as a bright spot for a team that has struggled this season.
