But it wasn’t just the usual stars making headlines, Ty Jerome stole the show off the bench.
After the game, Donovan Mitchell didn’t hold back his admiration for his teammate’s breakout performance.
"That's who Ty is... ultimate confidence guy," Mitchell said.
Jerome lit it up in just 26 minutes of action, dropping 28 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
He was efficient and confident, going 10-of-15 from the field and sinking 5-of-8 triples. His 16-point fourth quarter helped the Cavs pull away for good.
Alongside Jerome’s big night, Mitchell led the way with 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Darius Garland added 27 points and 5 dimes, while Jarrett Allen contributed a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Game 2 is set for April 23 in Cleveland, where the Cavs will look to protect home court and take a 2-0 lead in the series.
