"We have much more hope today than we did three days ago," Rivers said before Thursday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. "We're going to take everything that we can do to see if there's a way to get him back."
Rivers highlighted that Lillard’s recovery is progressing well, following his diagnosis, and that the team has received a "great report" on his health.
However, Lillard, who has missed eight consecutive games, did not travel with the team due to concerns over the risks of flying while recovering.
Lillard has been a key player for the Bucks in his second season with the team with averages of 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game.
Bucks are currently the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 42-34
