Andrej Stojakovic, the son of former Serbian NBA legend Peja Stojakovic, faces an important decision regarding which national team he will represent in FIBA competitions.
Born in Greece to a Greek mother, Andrej holds both Greek and Serbian passports, giving him the option to play for either country.
According to Vassilis Papatheodorou of SDNA, Andrej is leaning toward representing the Greek national team.
Currently playing for the University of California in NCAA Division I, Andrej was one of the most highly sought-after recruits coming out of high school, drawing attention from top programs like Kentucky and UCLA. Ultimately, he chose Stanford before transferring to California.
This season, Andrej is averaging 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists for the California Golden Bears. His standout performance came in a recent game against his former team, Stanford, where he scored 37 points in the second round of the ACC Tournament.
Andrej is also making a name for himself on NBA draft boards, with projections suggesting he could be selected in the late second round of the 2025 NBA Draft, if he decides to declare.
