Jamal Murray drained a game-winning three, securing a 131-126 victory for the Denver Nuggets over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jamal Murray once again showcased his clutch gene against the Los Angeles Lakers, propelling the Denver Nuggets to a 131-126 victory with a game-winning three.
Murray finished with 26 points, shooting 9-for-16 (56.3%) from the field. In his postgame press conference, he discussed his role with the Nuggets, emphasizing his selflessness and commitment to the team's success.
"I’d love to shoot 25-30 times a night, but at the end of the day, I'm trying to win," Murray said, highlighting his team-first mindset. Despite his scoring prowess, he understands that his role goes beyond just putting up points.
Murray also praised his teammate Nikola Jokic, recognizing that with a player of Jokic’s caliber on the court, he doesn’t need to force his shots.
"I have the best player in the world, a three-time MVP, about to be four-time MVP. I’m not going to force it," he said. "I might have it going and get to 25 shots, but it’s all about the flow of the game. I don’t like to come down and force things."
This season, Murray is averaging 21.5 points, 6.1 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game, serving as a reliable second option for the Nuggets alongside Jokic.
