Before the Warriors' matchup with the Magic, Kerr shared his thoughts on Banchero's potential for future international competition. He said he would be surprised if the 22-year-old isn’t part of Team USA in the upcoming Olympics.

"He’s such a talented guy and versatile," Kerr said during a pregame press conference. "Playing off of other superstars, you can imagine the force and impact of his athleticism."

"He was right in the mix, and ultimately, it just came down to roster construction and what we needed. We ended up deciding more on guard play than frontcourt, but he’s a great young guy. Really enjoyed coaching him," the coach added.

Banchero, who chose to represent the United States over Italy, made his debut in the FIBA World Cup 2023, where he averaged 9.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

This season in the NBA, he averages 23.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. He shoots 41.9% from the field.

The team that he is leading, the Magic, sits at the 7th spot in the Eastern Conference.
