Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is facing a one-game suspension after his shocking ejection during Thursday's 111-102 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 23-year-old guard exited the game after receiving his 15th and 16th technical fouls of the season, following a heated argument over a no-call midway through the third quarter.
Unless the decision is overturned, Edwards will be sidelined for the Timberwolves' upcoming road game against the Utah Jazz on Friday night.
Edwards, who initially smiled after receiving the ejection, did not hold back his frustration as he made his way to the locker room. He threw the ball into the stands, an outburst that is likely to result in a fine from the NBA.
In the 2024-25 season, Ant averages 27.5 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game, shooting 43.6% from the field and 40% from the arc.
Timberwolves currently are at the 8th spot in the Western Conference with a record of 32-28.
