Memphis Grizzlies rookie Zach Edey is the heaviest NBA player currently, weighing in at 305 pounds (138 kg). European big-man duo of Jusuf Nurkic and Nikola Jokic follow closely behind at 290 (131 kg) and 284 pounds (128 kg), respectively.

While the NBA's style of play has evolved significantly over the years, the number of heavy players has decreased noticeably in recent seasons.

In the past, we've seen some of the heaviest NBA players ever, like Shaquille O'Neal at 415 pounds (188 kg), dominate the league. Today, true back-to-the-basket big men are rare; they've been replaced by mobile, versatile bigs who can run, defend, and catch lobs.

Even though the game has become faster, there are still some exceptionally strong players for their size, leading one to wonder: who is the heaviest NBA player currently?

It's difficult to determine exact player weights since they fluctuate throughout the season. For example, Luka Doncic's weight was reportedly around 270 pounds (122 kg) at one point this season, though he now appears to be in better shape and weighs significantly less.

Zion Williamson's weight has also been a major talking point around the league. Before the season, his official weight was listed at 284 pounds (129 kg), which tied him for the third-heaviest player in the NBA. However, recent reports suggest he's the lightest he's been since his rookie year, weighing in at 264 pounds (120 kg).

Taking all of this into account, I present a list of the current heaviest NBA players.

Who is the heaviest player in the NBA right now?

It's incredible that Nikola Jokic is the third heaviest current NBA player at 284 pounds (129 kg).

His dominance over the past four seasons – winning three MVPs and leading the Denver Nuggets to a championship – only highlights his unique phenomenon, given his size and playing style.

Guerschon Yabusele of the Philadelphia 76ers is the shortest player on this list of the NBA's heaviest players, standing at 6-foot-8 (203 cm).

Apart from him and Brooklyn Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe, who is 6-foot-9 (206 cm), everyone else on the list is 6-foot-10 or taller.

Had Zion Williamson's weight been recorded at the start of the season, he would not only have been among the top five biggest NBA players currently, but, at 6-foot-6 (198 cm), he would also have been the shortest on the list.
