As the Heat prepare for a playoff push, Wiggins is focused on adjusting to his new environment and building chemistry with his teammates.

Speaking to ClutchPoints after Thursday’s practice, Wiggins reflected on the past few weeks, which have been hard both professionally and personally.

In addition to the trade, he welcomed the birth of his baby boy, a life-changing event that his former coach, Steve Kerr, highlighted when discussing Wiggins' departure from Golden State.

"It was a good break, you know. I got to go back, see my family, that’s all that mattered to me. It’s the NBA, you know. It happens. You just have to be able to adjust and keep doing what you’re doing. Look at the bright side of things," he said.

Wiggins has drawn comparisons between the Heat and the Warriors, particularly in how they operate on offense.

He has noted similarities between Tyler Herro and Stephen Curry in their scoring roles, while Bam Adebayo plays a versatile, do-it-all role reminiscent of Draymond Green.

"I think it’s been great," Wiggins said. "I feel like my style fits the team, and they’re a winning franchise, a winning organization. I’m happy to be here and be part of it."

As for adjusting to life in Miami, Wiggins has yet to explore the city fully but is optimistic about his new home.

"I haven’t had the chance to go out and really explore, but I know I’m going to love it here. I’ve heard nothing but great things," he said.

Wiggins has been thrown right into the mix, starting in the first two games he’s played with the Heat. With Miami looking to stay competitive in the Eastern Conference, his ability to contribute on both ends of the floor will be crucial moving forward.
