The FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers are nearing their conclusion, while Slovakia, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Croatia have already been eliminated from contention.
The FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers are entering their final stage, with the third and last FIBA window taking place from February 20-24. After this window, the 24 national teams that will compete in FIBA EuroBasket 2025 will be confirmed.
Out of the 32 teams participating in the Qualifiers, 8 teams will not qualify for the main event.
Before the final window, all teams had a chance to secure their spot. However, following Match Day 5, some teams have been eliminated from contention.
Slovakia has officially become the first team to lose all theoretical chances of qualifying for FIBA EuroBasket 2025, with one game left to play. They suffered a defeat against Belgium on Feb. 20, leaving them with a 0-5 record in Group C.
Similarly, Ukraine faced a setback on Feb. 21, losing to Slovenia, and has also remained winless in the Qualifiers. North Macedonia, meanwhile, lost their do-or-die game vs. Estonia.
Denmark also got eliminated after their heart-breaking loss against Georgia. The Netherlands stumbled against Great Britain at home and are done with their chances to get to the EuroBasket, too.
Probably the biggest upset is Croatia missing out on the upcoming EuroBasket. They lost to France and don't have any opportunities with one game to go. It's the first time in history when Croatia will not participate in FIBA EuroBasket.
Bulgaria lost away in Germany and with that loss they also stayed without chances of returning to the EuroBasket.
Hungary won against Italy away, but was still knocked out due to Iceland beating Turkiye at home
