He will be representing Charles Barkley's 'Global Stars' team, in the new All-Star Game format, where four teams will be competing for the win in the tournament. When asked whether he'll bring the energy on defense, he does playing for the Spurs, he responded that he definitely will.
"Yeah," Wembanyama replied when asked if he'll play defense during the All-Star Game, via Clutchpoints.
"I’m definitely going to try to bring that energy," the 7-foot-5 center says of the new four-squad tournament.
Wemby said he's ready to compete no matter the way the game goes. Says he wants to keep things professional.
"If it turns out like every other recent game, slow and just playing around, I hope I can bring that contrast of a single guy who goes crazy, dives on the ball, hustles every play," Wemby said.
"I want to keep it professional," the Spurs All-Star continued. "I wouldn’t mind a simpler format with more to lose, more stakes. But I’m very excited of course."
