Nearly every team looking to buy at the trade deadline is monitoring Bennedict Mathurin, but the Indiana Pacers are seeking a valuable player and a first-round pick in return.
Indiana Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin is reportedly generating significant interest on the trade market, according to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.
"Indiana guard Bennedict Mathurin is being monitored by nearly every team seen as a buyer at the deadline," Woike reported.
Despite the interest, the Pacers are playing well and are expected to seek a player they value while also trying to recoup the first-round pick they used to draft Mathurin.
The 22-year-old Canadian is averaging 16.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this season, shooting 47.1% from the field and 36.4% from three.
Now in his third NBA season after being selected sixth overall in 2022, Mathurin has become a key piece for Indiana.

The Pacers currently hold the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference with a 26-20 record.
Meanwhile, rumors are also swirling around their starting center, Myles Turner, who is reportedly being targeted by the Los Angeles Lakers.
