With Myles Turner entering free agency this summer and uncertainty surrounding his potential re-signing with the Indiana Pacers, discussions have begun between the Pacers and the Los Angeles Lakers regarding a trade.

According to Anthony F. Irwin of ClutchPoints, the Lakers are actively considering whether to offer both of their movable first-round picks for Turner. L.A. has held extensive internal conversations about the 28-year-old big man.

The Lakers have explored other options, including Jonas Valanciunas and Nikola Vucevic, but found the asking prices too high, per the same report.

Consequently, they have shifted their focus to Turner, who is currently averaging 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season.

NBA insider Marc Stein earlier reported that the Lakers are unlikely to pursue Vucevic from the Chicago Bulls or Jakob Poeltl from the Toronto Raptors. Additionally, there hasn't been significant progress toward a deal involving Valanciunas of the Washington Wizards.

Last week, Anthony Davis expressed to ESPN's Shams Charania his desire for the Lakers to acquire another big man before the February 6 trade deadline, emphasizing that he feels most comfortable playing as a power forward.

LeBron James echoed this sentiment, urging the franchise to strengthen their roster to enhance their championship prospects. Both stars believe the team is just a piece or two away from becoming serious contenders.

However, previous reports suggest that the Lakers are leaning toward smaller moves and have remained relatively passive in trade discussions.
