Bruno Fernando will travel to Monaco and might get some minutes from Real Madrid coach Chus Mateo. On the other hand, Dennis Smith Jr. is not ready to make his debut with the Spanish powerhouse.

Last Wednesday, Real Madrid registered Bruno Fernando and Dennis Smith Jr. to their EuroLeague roster, which means that the two new signings would be available to make their debut on Friday when the Spanish outfit will be hosted by AS Monaco.

Coach Chus Mateo will be the one to decide if they do so -- and it seems that at least the Angolan big man will suit up for last year's EuroLeague finalists.

"My idea is for Bruno Fernando to travel to Monaco and play. Dennis needs a little more time," Mateo told reporters before departure.

The Madrid coach praised the physical condition of the newly-signed center who was playing in the NBA with the Raptors until he was cut in early January. However, Mateo has already warned that Smith's case is different, given that he had to get back into shape after not having played a game since April and having dealt with some injuries.

The two signings made by Madrid are still not registered in the ACB league. The Whites host Joventut this Sunday and for them to be in a position to play, they would have to be registered by Friday at the latest.

Mateo said that he wanted the two new signings to make their debut before the Copa del Rey so that they would arrive at the first big tournament of the season with some game rhythm.

Until the start of the Spanish Cup, Madrid have five games to play: Monaco, Joventut, a double matchday in Istanbul against Efes and Fenerbahce, and, finally, Lleida in the ACB.
