Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen got injured in a collision with Victor Wembanyama. The Jazz coach, Will Hardy, confirmed it is a left knee contusion.
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen was forced to exit Tuesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs late in the fourth quarter after a collision with Victor Wembanyama.
The 27-year-old was helped off the court and taken to the locker room with what the team has diagnosed as a contusion to his left knee.
Jazz head coach Will Hardy addressed the injury after the game, confirming the diagnosis.
"As of now, it's a contusion," Hardy said during his postgame comments.
Markkanen has been performing well this season, averaging 19.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while shooting 47.6% from the field and 44.6% from three-point range.
It remains uncertain whether Markkanen will be available for the Jazz's upcoming matchup against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
