Rumors have been swirling that recent front office changes within the New Orleans Pelicans organization could lead to further roster moves — potentially involving their star, Zion Williamson.

However, newly appointed Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars quickly shut down speculation that he might push for a Williamson trade.

"I read that last week (that I was given a mandate to trade Zion Williamson). If I did, nobody told me," Dumars said, via Will Guillory of The Athletic.

The Pelicans endured a disappointing season, finishing 14th in the Western Conference, while Zion once again struggled with injuries, appearing in just 30 games.

Despite posting strong numbers, 24.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game, the Pelicans clearly need more consistent availability and impact from their star if they hope to turn things around.
