Ja Morant is dealing with significant swelling in his right ankle and remains questionable for the final play-in game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant seriously sprained his ankle during their last play-in game against the Golden State Warriors, finishing in a loss 116-121.
Although Morant returned to the game after the injury and managed to finish it, later stating he would be ready for the next matchup for a chance to secure the final playoff spot, he is now dealing with significant issues.
According to ESPN, Morant missed the Grizzlies’ practice on Thursday due to the sprained right ankle.
He is reportedly experiencing considerable swelling and has been undergoing round-the-clock treatment.
Grizzlies interim head coach Tuomas Iisalo addressed the situation, stating that Morant's availability against Dallas will be a true game-time decision.
"My feeling is that he’ll do absolutely everything he can to play," Iisalo told reporters on Thursday. "If he’s physically able to do it, he will do it. It’s a legitimate game-time decision."
