Bob Myers, Troy Weaver, Will Dawkins, and others are among the available candidates to become the new Denver Nuggets general manager.
The Denver Nuggets made a shocking overhaul just before the start of the playoffs by firing both head coach Mike Malone and general manager Calvin Booth.
Speculation about potential changes had already been brewing after the season, fueled by what ESPN sources described as a "cold war" between Malone and Booth.
However, the decision to release both at this stage of the season caught everyone off guard.
One of the main questions for the Nuggets after this decision is the appointment of a new GM.
Therefore, we provide you with a few names that could be potential candidates to become the new Nuggets GM and replace Booth.
Potential candidates who could be the next Nuggets GM
Bob Myers

The architect of the Golden State Warriors dynasty, Bob Myers, is one of the most sought-after GMs in the NBA.
His ability to construct championship-winning teams is undeniable, making him one of the most reliable options for Denver.
Myers is currently a studio and in-game analyst for ESPN and ABC but would consider a job in an NBA team's front office if the right opportunity came along.
The Nuggets already seem like a team that is maybe a piece or two away from winning a championship and repeating their success from 2023.
Myers would surely be interested in taking over the Nuggets if offered the position.
Tim Connelly

Connelly was named executive vice president of basketball operations and general manager of the Denver Nuggets back in 2013.
Later, in 2017, he was promoted to the team's president of basketball operations.
He was a key figure in building the Nuggets team we know today, bringing in many of the core pieces of the roster that went on to win the NBA championship after his departure to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2022.
Connelly reportedly has an opt-out clause in his contract after this season in Minnesota, making his return a real possibility.
Will Dawkins
The current Washington Wizards GM, Will Dawkins, could be an interesting option to replace Booth in Denver.
Before taking on the Wizards GM role, Dawkins spent more than a decade working under Sam Presti with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he honed his skills under one of the league's most respected team-builders.
The situation in Washington is uncertain. The team hasn't shown many signs of turning things around, and if they fail to acquire Cooper Flagg in the upcoming NBA Draft, the Wizards' rebuild could become even more challenging.
This could prompt Dawkins to consider an opportunity with Denver if offered the chance to replace Booth.
Troy Weaver
Former Detroit Pistons GM Troy Weaver could also be an intriguing option for the Nuggets.
Although his tenure with the Pistons from 2020 to 2024 was marked by struggles, including one of the worst records in NBA history last year, the results of the rebuild finally seem to be materializing, with the team already clinching a playoff spot.
Currently, Weaver is working as a senior advisor for the Washington Wizards and would be available for the role with the Nuggets.
Before his stint in Detroit, Weaver spent 12 years with the Oklahoma City Thunder and was instrumental in pushing the team to draft Russell Westbrook in 2008, during his first year with the organization.
He has the experience and accomplishments to make a strong case for becoming the Nuggets' new GM.
Tomas Balcetis
Current Denver Nuggets Assistant GM Tomas Balcetis is reportedly set to remain in his role with the team for this season, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
However, looking ahead, Balcetis could emerge as an intriguing candidate for the Nuggets' GM position.
The Lithuanian has been a part of the Denver Nuggets organization for over a decade.
Starting as a manager of basketball analytics, he climbed the career ladder in Denver until being promoted to Assistant GM in 2020.
Balcetis has seen it all with the Nuggets and appears to be a reliable option to continue the successful work Denver has been doing for the last decade, building a solid championship-caliber team through the draft, smart trades, and offseason signings.
