The Denver Nuggets have fired head coach Michael Malone and promoted assistant coach David Adelman to replace him.
The Denver Nuggets have fired coach Michael Malone, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. Lead assistant coach David Adelman will serve as the interim coach.
This decision comes as Denver has three regular-season games remaining against Sacramento, Memphis, and Houston.
The Nuggets are currently experiencing a rough patch, having lost four games in a row. The team is currently the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference with a 47–32 record.
Malone, 53, is the winningest coach in franchise history since being hired in 2015, and he led the Nuggets to the 2023 NBA championship.

Malone has finished his head coaching job in Denver at 471-327 record over 10 seasons.
This is the second late-season firing in the NBA after the Memphis Grizzlies parted ways with Taylor Jenkins.
Shortly after the news about Malone went public, Charania also reported that the Nuggets are also firing general manager Calvin Booth.
