Following the loss, the Lakers are heading to Texas, where they will face Luka's former team, the Dallas Mavericks, on Wednesday.
In the post-game press conference, Doncic opened up about his upcoming return to Dallas. While he's excited to go back, he believes it will be an emotional night playing against the Mavs.
"I don't really know what to expect. I don't know how I'm going to feel, honestly," Luka said, via Dave McMenamin. "I'm looking forward to being back in Dallas, obviously, with the fans, seeing my teammates — ex-teammates. It's going to be very emotional for me, for sure."
Doncic spent 6.5 seasons with the Mavericks, earning 5 NBA All-Star selections and 5 All-NBA honors. He also led the team to their first NBA Finals appearance last year, their first since 2011.
The game will be crucial for both teams, as the Lakers look to maintain their hold on third place in the Western Conference, while the Mavericks aim to secure their spot in the play-in tournament with a win.
