Quentin Grimes has made an immediate impact with the Philadelphia 76ers, boosting his value ahead of restricted free agency, where the 76ers are thinking of signing him.
Quentin Grimes' time with the Philadelphia 76ers is off to a strong start, and the team is already looking to keep him around for the long haul.
Despite speculation that Grimes requested a trade from Dallas, NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported otherwise.
"League sources say that Grimes' camp did not explicitly request a trade out of Dallas, despite suggestions to the contrary, but the fourth-year guard appears to have given his forthcoming foray into restricted free agency quite a boost regardless with his scoring as a Sixer," they wrote on Substack, per Clutchpoints.
Since joining the Sixers, Grimes has been on a tear, averaging 21.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game on an impressive 61.2% true shooting.
His scoring surge has boosted his stock ahead of restricted free agency, with Stein and Fischer noting that Grimes "will certainly be seeking higher figures this summer after his March Madness."
