Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens head coach, Ergin Ataman, shared his thoughts ahead of next Friday’s crucial EuroLeague showdown against their eternal rivals, Olympiacos Piraeus.
Ataman acknowledged the difficulty of the challenge, describing Olympiacos as the best team in the EuroLeague, but he remains confident in his team’s ability to secure a victory at the Peace and Friendship Stadium.
"Olympiacos is the best team or one of the best in the EuroLeague," Ataman stated via Sportal.gr. "We’re expecting a tough game, we’re in a good place."
"It’s a derby, and it’s great for Greek basketball to see two of the best teams in the EuroLeague. We will try to win, with all due respect to Olympiacos," he added.
Panathinaikos currently sit in third place in the EuroLeague, three wins behind first-placed Olympiacos, who have a record of 21 wins and 7 losses heading into Round 29.
