Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden dropped 50 points in the team's 123-115 win over the Detroit Pistons. After the game, Harden credited the presence of President Barack Obama, who was in attendance, as the possible inspiration behind his remarkable performance.
The Los Angeles Clippers secured a crucial 123-115 win at home against the Detroit Pistons, with James Harden stealing the spotlight in an incredible 50-point performance.
When asked if such a performance still takes a toll on him, Harden confidently stated it doesn’t, as he’s done it countless times before.
"No, I can do it. It’s not my first time," Harden stated after the game, via Joey Linn. "If it’s someone’s first time, it takes a lot of energy. For me, it’s just understanding the game. I see the game within the game."
Former President Barack Obama was also in attendance, and Harden joked that Obama might have been the inspiration behind his 50-point outburst.
"I wanted my picture with the President after the game, but he left. I guess he wanted to beat traffic," Harden said. "We’ve got a pretty cool relationship. We’ve met a few times. It’s awesome to see him at the game. He’s probably the reason I played so well."
