Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Jalen Hood-Schifino has signed a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Jalen Hood-Schifino has agreed to a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
The 17th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Lakers, Schifino has spent the majority of the last two years with the Lakers G-League affiliate team the South Bay Lakers, where he averaged 8 points per game this season.
He only appeared in 23 games with the Lakers in the past two seasons, before being traded to the Utah Jazz, where he was waived shortly after.
In two games with the Lakers this season, he averaged only 2 points in 7 minutes per game.
Now with the 76ers, Hood-Schifino will have a chance for more NBA playing time, as Philadelphia is unlikely to contend for a playoff spot after losing Joel Embiid for the rest of the season. The team currently sits 12th in the Eastern Conference.
