Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving reacted to facing his former teammate Luka Doncic in the game against the Los Angeles Lakers, saying it was a really awkward experience.
The Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers met for the first time last night. In much anticipated game between the teams, Luka Doncic and the Lakers came up victorious 107-99.

After the game, Mavs star Kyrie Irving reacted to their first matchup against Luka and the Lakers after the trade. Saying it was an awkward experience.
"Awkward as s**t. It was awkward," Irving said in the press conference after the game. "At the same time, it was fun. We got a chance to feel like we were in practice all over again going at each other."
Irving couldn't believe seeing Luka in the Lakers uniform for the first time, saying the crowd cheering for him making these tough shots made it even weirder.
"That was a good reflection point. Just seeing the crowd cheer for him, just get him going. Seeing him make the tough shots that I’ve seen him make thousands of times, that’s what probably made it even more awkward," Irving noted.
Kyrie believes JJ Redick made a good job preparing his team and Luka mentally for this game.
"You can tell JJ Redick was trying to prepare the guys emotionally, especially Luka," Kyrie added. "I feel like he handled himself well."
