The veteran guard, who remains a key figure for the Italian club, emphasized his passion for the game and his determination to compete at a high level.
"Age is just a number," Belinelli said. "The most important thing is (knocks on wood) staying healthy, keeping a positive mindset, and having that fire inside to show that you want to play and win."
As for retirement, the 38-year-old remains undecided but made it clear that he wants to leave on his own terms.
"It’s a decision I’ll make at the end of the season. I want to do it my way, I want to finish while still being an important player," he stated.
Belinelli also spoke about Virtus' goals, stressing the need for constant improvement.
"We have to keep improving every day, and then we’ll see what we can achieve at the end of the season."
In the EuroLeague, this season shooter averages 6.5 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists. He is shooting 42.6% from the field and 31% from the arc.
With Virtus competing at the highest levels in Italy and Europe, Belinelli remains a crucial figure for the team. Whether this will be his final season remains to be seen, but for now, his focus is on finishing strong.
