The New Orleans Pelicans have made the move ahead of the trade deadline by dealing Daniel Theis.
Shams Charania from ESPN reports that the Pelicans traded Theis and draft compensation to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Marc Stein reports that the Pelicans included the 2031 2nd round pick.
Pelicans were $1.4 million above the luxury tax before the trade, so this move essentially allowed New Orleans to save money.
Theis is on an expiring $2.1 million deal.
This season, the 32-year-old German international averages 4.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in 38 appearances.
