Paolo Ronci, the GM of Virtus Bologna, said that Dusko Ivanovic will make the final decision on Justin Holiday's future with the club. If everything goes well, Holiday will sign a 3-month deal with an option to extend it for another 2 months.
During this morning's press conference, Paolo Ronci, the General Manager of Virtus Segafredo Bologna, said the team is considering adding veteran NBA player Justin Holiday to its roster.
Justin Holiday
Position: | SF, SG |
Age: | 35 |
Height: | 198 cm |
Weight: | 84 kg |
Birth place: | United States of America |
A decision is pending based on his performance during a ten-day trial period.
"Justin Holiday is joining us by mutual agreement, as mentioned by coach Ivanovic. Given the current market situation, we believed that bringing in a player with extensive NBA experience, who played until May with the Nuggets, was the best opportunity to assess him directly on the court," Ronci said.
In a statement, Ronci clarified that the club's approach to roster changes has always been approved by Dusko Ivanovic.
"Since this ownership and management have been in place, no player has ever arrived without the coach's approval. We've never signed a contract without the coach saying, 'It's fine'," he explained.

Holiday's time with Virtus Bologna will be initially assessed over the next ten days, after which Ivanovic will provide a final evaluation.
If the feedback is positive, a 3-month contract will be offered, with an option to extend for an additional 2 months.
"Ivanovic will decide only after seeing how he integrates with the rest of the team. Questioning him now seems disrespectful considering his career, especially since he is also here in excellent condition," Ronci noted.
Before making any long-term commitments, the focus will be on how well Holiday integrates with the team's existing dynamics.
Virtus have a 7-16 record and are 16th in the EuroLeague.
