The Boston Celtics were caught off guard by an unexpected sharpshooting display from Dillon Brooks, who torched them with a career-high 10 three-pointers in the Houston Rockets’ 114-112 victory. Brooks' performance tied a franchise record and overshadowed Boston’s efforts, as the Celtics' entire starting lineup combined for fewer threes than him.

Jayson Tatum admitted that the team wasn’t prepared for such a night from Brooks.

“You want to adjust and try to make things tough on them, but I don’t know. He hit 10 threes tonight. It’s tough. Didn’t account for that at all,” he concluded.

Jaylen Brown echoed the sentiment, giving credit to the Rockets for making the most of their opportunities.

“The people we wanted to make beat us, beat us tonight,” Brown said. “We wanted to take Jalen [Green], Fred [VanVleet], and [Alperen] Sengun away, and we kind of accomplished that. But Dillon Brooks and Amen Thompson made us pay,” he concluded.

Despite a strong defensive game plan, Boston simply had no answer for Brooks' historic shooting night.
