The Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II has sustained a small fracture in his foot and will miss 2 to 3 months, as reported per Shams Charania.

It could be a crucial loss for the Mavs as Lively has become one of the most important anchors on the defensive end for them.

This season Lively is averaging 9.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks playing 24 minutes a game.

The Mavs are currently in a play-in position in the West with a 23-20 record but have a really tough schedule up ahead as they face Timberwolves, Thunder, and Celtics in their next three games.
