Ergin Ataman spoke about possible reinforcement at the center position after losing Omer Yurtseven for 1 to 2 months due to a foot injury.
Panathinaikos head coach Ergin Ataman spoke to the media before Thursday’s Euroleague game against Zalgiris Kaunas.
Ataman reacted to the current injury situation in his team, after losing two main centers Mathias Lessort and recently Omer Yurtseven to injuries. He said that the team is looking to add an experienced player with quality to Panathinaikos’ roster.
“If we can find a player with quality, experience, and someone who can offer us even more than we need, then we will keep him. If not, then we will continue with the current roster. We will not keep any player just for the sake of making a transfer,” Ataman commented on the new player search.
The deadline for the teams to finalize their rosters is February 26th. That means that if Panathinaikos wants to add a new player to their roster, they must sign him before Round 27 in the Euroleague.
Ataman also mentioned that Konstantinos Mitoglou will be ready to suit up for the game against Zalgiris. Kostas Antetokounmpo will be included to the roster as well.
Currently, with a 13-9 record, Panathinaikos are sitting fifth in the Euroleague standings.
