Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka made some sharp comments about Spanish legend Marc Gasol ahead of the team's matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night.

When asked if the Rockets were showing center Alperen Sengun clips of former Grizzlies player Gasol to help him improve defensively, Udoka reminded one specific fact and felt weird about it.

Gasol won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award in 2013 but controversially was only named to the All-Defensive Second Team that same season.

"No, we did not show Alpy Marc Gasol, but if I'm not mistaken, I think he won [DPOY] and didn't get first-team that year. If I remember correctly," Udoka said, via Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian.

"It was a weird year. I found it a little weird that [Gasol] got it. I remember playing against him a ton in San Antonio. So, I'll leave that there."

Sengun, meanwhile, has averaged 19.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game this season.
