Carmelo Anthony dismissed rumors of an Olympic return, stating he has no plans to compete ever again.
LeBron and Bronny James have aimed for a father-son partnership in the NBA, but that's not what intrigues 40-year-old Carmelo Anthony and his 17-year-old son, Kiyan.
On The Kiyan Anthony Show, Kiyan speculated about the possibility of his dad returning for a future Olympic appearance. However, Carmelo was quick to shut down that idea.
"I don't want to replace nobody, they deserve to be on that team," Melo said on Overtime. "I would come out and just be like a little honorary captain."
Carmelo had a 19-year NBA career before retiring in 2023. His last Olympic appearance was at the 2016 Rio Games, where the Team USA took home gold. He also won gold in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012, along with a bronze in the 2004 Athens Games.
Carmelo held the record for the most Olympic basketball medals until Kevin Durant surpassed him at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
