Voigtmann joined EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in 2022, having previously played for CSKA Moscow and Baskonia in the EuroLeague. Last season, the 31-year-old averaged 7.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 9.4 PIR over 34 games.
Before Bayern's announcement, Voigtmann expressed his gratitude to Olimpia Milano on Instagram:
"Olimpia Milano, thanks for making my family and me feel at home and getting to know great people that I will call friends now. Thanks to everyone involved with the club for treating us like one of you. Thanks for those 2 years that weren't always easy, but in the end, we were able to celebrate 2 scudetti together. That's what's going to last. Grazie mille!"

He is also a 2023 World Champion and a bronze medalist from EuroBasket 2022.
At Bayern Munich, Voigtmann will reunite with former German national team head coach Gordon Herbert, who left his post after the Olympics.
