Jayson Tatum has made his first appearance in the Olympic tournament in Paris. After not playing against Serbia, he played for 17 minutes tonight, scoring 4 points(2/3 2PT, 0/1 3PT) and catching 5 rebounds in the process.

Boston Celtics forward was asked to comment on his role in the Serbia game, calling it a "humble experience".

"It's a unique situation, and it's not about one individual player, competitor in you wants to play obviously, but I'm not here to make a story about myself," Tatum said after the win against South Sudan. "You win a championship, new contract, NBA 2K25 cover, Sports Illustrated... so after all of this, it's definitely a humbling experience."

"We won; I was just glad to get back out there and play again, as there was a lot of chatter over the last few days," Tatum added.

Tatum also used this chance to praise his Boston teammate, Derrick White.

"Derrick, he has been booming, doing everything that he does, him being a plug and replace guy, you can put him in any system and he will know what to do," Tatum noted.
