AS Monaco have signed Juhann Begarin to a three-year deal.
AS Monaco have bolstered their backcourt by signing top French talent Juhann Begarin to a three-year deal. Begarin is set to make his EuroLeague debut with the club.
"I am still a very young player. The goal is to continue to progress, reach new levels and milestones, and do everything to become the best possible player I can be during these three seasons in the Monaco colors and until the end of my career," Begarin told the official Monaco website.
Begarin, standing at 1.96 meters and just 21 years old, joins from fellow French League team Nanterre 92. Last season, he averaged 7.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists over 33 games, helping the team finish the regular season in fifth place and reach the Leaders Cup finals.
He began his career in the youth ranks with Centre Federal de Basketball in France before joining Paris Basketball in 2019, where he spent four seasons.
In the 2022-23 season, Begarin was a top contender for the EuroCup Rising Star Award, averaging 12.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 steals for Paris. He ranked third in steals in the EuroCup that season.
Begarin has also represented the French national team at both junior and senior levels and was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 45th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
