Golden State Warriors have acquired Buddy Hield from the Philadelphia 76ers in a sign-and-trade deal, securing him with a two-year, $21 million contract. The Sixers are receiving a 2031 Dallas second-round pick from the GSW.
Golden State Warriors have agreed to acquire Buddy Hield from the Philadelphia 76ers in a sign-and-trade deal, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Warriors will send a 2031 Dallas second-round pick to the 76ers to complete the trade.
Hield's contract with the Warriors is guaranteed for two years at $21 million, with $18 million paid over the first two years, a $3 million partial guarantee in the third year, and a player option for a non-guaranteed fourth year, as reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hield and his new teammate, Stephen Curry, are among the leaders in 3-pointers made over the last five NBA seasons.
In a recent conversation with BasketNews, Hield explained why he's representing the Bahamas without an NBA contract by saying the following:
"I love basketball. I love playing. Getting to the Olympics is the ultimate goal. When I get older, I can tell my kids I played in the Olympics. My grandkids will know I played in the Olympics, and it's special," said Hield.

Hield, who is 31 years old, averaged 12.2 points per game and shot 38.9 percent from three-point range in his first season with the 76ers. He previously played for the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, and New Orleans Pelicans.
Currently, Hield is starring in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) with the Bahamas. In victories against Finland and Poland, he averaged 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists.
